M2S
During a semester, I rented a space that I used as a storage and workshop.
A 150 x 150 mm grid that was present on one of the wall became a source of inspiration for a project that a called M2S grid.
Using Europallet wood, I explored ratios, sizes and possibilities offered by this material. I ended with 3 different types of parts: sticks, planks and a combination of sticks and planks.
From this point, M2S became an inspiration mind game. Here are the rules:
- Use the grid as support.
- Each peace of wood in contact with the grid must be aligned with the grid points.
- Every piece that doesn’t touch the grid can be placed as desire.
This game invites a new mode of creation where the choices are so limited that the visual rhythm creates an harmony and interesting shapes.
